Music is the social act of communication among people, a gesture of friendship, the strongest there is.” — Sir Malcolm Arnold
My story
My healing journey with sound started around age 7. My school gave me a cello to take home. The warm wooden box was like a little extra person my size, accompanying me to school and back each day. To live with a cello is to have a friend for life. Amid a chaotic, dysfunctional setting, I found these low hypnotic tones, soothing vibrations that grounded me and gave me a “home” in sound.
In my 20s, I practiced primal scream therapy for around 3 years. Primal sound, the birth cry, healed my system, mind, body and spirit. The goal was to go back in time through memory to certain points of trauma or pain and then release the sounds never made in the past, sending shockwaves of emotional liberation through time. It was quite powerful.
Some years later as an adult, I returned to music school to complete a cello performance degree, continued training in electronic music production, and released music as an artist. However, I always held within my mind the memory of vibrational healing. Recently I began collecting sound bath instruments and tuning forks with great delight, and became certified as a sound healing practitioner to help others experience the calming and restorative art of sonic healing.
I am continuously doing this work on myself (“Not only the hair club president, but also a client!”) to regulate my nervous system, help me deal with anxiety and disconnectedness, and restore equilibrium. I’ve found this gentle, universal healing modality to be life-changing and unique. It asks nothing of you except to listen and absorb the beauty of frequency. I can’t wait to share this gift with you!
